Who we work with...

We work with a range of professionals who simply want to get back into work. We understand that some clients may choose temporary employment as a means to bridge their current situation until a more ideal job becomes available while other clients will feel that the time is right to position themselves for an ideal job, choosing to focus on taking their skills into new career paths. Regardless of the direction you are wanting to take your employment, we  know that the Great Recession has caused individuals to go into new areas that they previously hadn’t anticipated.

We work with individuals who have been successful in their previous employment but are now confused with the direction to take their job search because of the challenges the new economy has put against them. And this feeling is warranted when one considers that skills used to obtain employment just two years ago are no longer relevant.

CONFUSION AND FRUSTRATIOIN

Unfortunately much of the information available to job seekers simply adds to the confusion and frustration many people feel. Typically, job seekers spend endless hours behind their computer screen clicking “apply now” with hundreds of resumes sent while few, if any, interviews actually result.  If the confusing options of where to even look for a job weren’t bad enough, what to do when you find one can be even more complex.

The choices are numerous and mind numbing for the average job seeker and they range from: should you send a cover letter, a cover letter and a resume or just a resume, should the resume be the same you used before or customized, how should the information appear, and what about key words to get past the automated resume screening system, etc.  After a while, it can begin to feel like you are being forced to doing something akin to self dentistry.

WHAT DOES THE INTERVIEWER NEED TO HEAR

For the few that are lucky enough to navigate the first few stages of finding a new job, there’s the dreaded job interview that invariably leads some to shy away from demonstrating what they can do, and others to feel stuck in figuring out what the interviewer wants to hear and what needs to be said.

The sad reality is that the best job candidates are those that are successful at selling themselves.  It can feel unfair that job performance doesn’t simply speak for itself and that you have to do it for yourself, especially when many people feel uncomfortable with singing their own praises, or don’t know how to.

WHAT DO HIRING MANAGERS REALLY TALK ABOUT

The risks of making a mistake, at any phase, are further enhanced by the reality that businesses in the Puget Sound operate in a fairly close knit environment which means applicant performance gets talked about by area recruiters and human resources professionals.
